7 Quick Takes

1. This was my day yesterday:
I started my day at the Preschool at 8:00, it was Pancake Day and I made 90 pancakes...none were left! I spent my morning wondering if it was a full moon because the friends were certainly behaving as if it was. I spent my afternoon working on Lesson Plans. Left work at 4:15, ran to the cleaners to get Mike's suit, ran to the store to get a new dress shirt, tie and belt for Mike's suit, went to Weight Watchers, went to Wal Mart to get Preschool groceries, went back to the Preschool to unload and put away groceries, went home ate dinner, picked up the house and then settled in at 9:00 for some computer time. After thinking about my day I realized that most of my days are like this and I really need to find some form of balance so, I can either relax more or have a bit more "me time".

2. I am thankful that a good friend of mine emailed me last week asking if I wanted to meet her this week for a pedicure. We are meeting tonight at 6:00 and going to Chili's after for dinner. So, it looks like today I will have both "relaxation" and "me time".

3. This morning is Mike's Oral Board Interview for Sgt. There are several guys going for only 2 spots. I've been torn on how I feel about this, basically because if Mike makes it he will go back on the road and work midnights. I've gotten used to his schedule now and like having him home at night and weekends. I was afraid to pray much for fear that I was praying for my needs and not thinking of my husbands. So, I turned it all over to God. Mike says he will be happy to stay where he is, but I also know he would take great pride in being a Sgt.

4. Laura Ashley came home from school yesterday very excited about an interview she has for her Internship Placement. She is going to school to be a Medical Assistant and X-Ray Tech and has an interest in also doing Physical Therapy. One of her instructors has been a very positive influence on her, likes her and has sought out a personalized placement for Laura to do her Internship. Laura has a interview with Dr. Buchanan who is a Chiropractor. If Laura gets this placement she will be able to use her skills as a Medical Assistant, do X-Rays, and train to do Physical Therapy. Based on what Laura's instructor has told the Dr. he is very interested in Laura doing her Internship and would like to train her to do the Physical Therapy, which means at the end of her Internship if she does good he will more than likely hire her.

5.Soooo...I "Re-Joined" Weight Watchers last night. I felt it was time to stop belly aching about how awful I looked and felt and realized the weight wouldn't come off on it's own.

6. I'm sooo hungry right now!!!

7. I really need some ice cream....someone please bring me ice cream....hurry I feel faint!!!

7 Quick Takes

1. We are on the Letter Pp this week. I sent out an email to the parents reminding them of all the fun activities planned for the week. I stated I loved the Letter Pp, and a parent posted on FB that Miss Shawnie loves Pp....LOL!!!

2.Aargh...today was Pirate Day...Tomorrow we're having pancakes for Tea Party, Thursday we wear pig noses and sing pig songs and Friday is Pajama Day!!

3. Today was soooooo much fun....until 10:30!

4. At 10:30 water started shooting out of the tank of one of our toilets. I had one friend washing their hands and another in the opposite stall of the shooting water.... Seems the City of Mount Dora was working on a water line at an apartment complex AND the Fire Dept. was draining hydrants and it caused all kinds of water issues at the Preschool.

5. From 10:30 on we couldn't use the potty or wash our hands.....Needless to say I called the city and said....."UH...HELLO I HAVE 37 PRESCHOOLERS HERE AND NOT GOING POTTY IS NOT AN OPTION"....HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

6. We spent our day shuffling between the Preschool and the Church bathrooms. We had boys and girls sharing both the Women's and Men's RestRoom. One little girl in the Men's Room was taking an exceptionally long time, when she was checked on we found she was going potty in one of the URINALS......LOL!!!!!!!

7. I came home and opened a bottle of wine!!

7 Quick Takes

1. I've got a big pot of Minestrone simmering on the stove and I made homemade cheese/garlic croutons to go on a Caesar salad. We had steak, baked potatoes and corn on Sunday. Monday we had left over steak and mushrooms over buttered rice with fresh broccoli, Tuesday I made a Seafood Lasagna. {LOL...that was all for you Tiffany,who says she even enjoys reading what I have for dinner.

2. I am so over this cold weather, but I hate to complain because I really dread the extreme hot weather that I know is right around the corner.

3. Last Friday for the Valentine Party I greeted the children at the door wearing a red feather boa and a pink headband with furry, glittery, hearts bobbing on top of my head {don't worry I had clothes on too!} and one of the little girls was mad because my outfit was better than hers...LOL!!! I thought that was so funny!

4. I need to color my hair like BIG TIME..there is soooo much gray!!!

5. Still waiting on office space at the Preschool...Grrr!!!

6. I went last Saturday with Sarah Beth to see Dear John...it was really good! Plus Sarah and I had a great day together. It's so important to get that one on one time with each child and I haven't had nearly enough one on one time with Sarah. Anyway, we hit the mall before the movie and I treated her to a mini shopping spree, after the movie we had dinner at Chipotle Grille. Sarah LOVES the burritos there!!

7. I was able to breath a sigh of relief when Valentine's Day came and went without Laura getting engaged. She has been dating Cody for almost a year and a half, I love Cody and they really seem to be a good match, he's very good to her, etc etc.... and I would welcome him as my son in law....PERHAPS ONE DAY! I am very vocal with both of them on the importance of them both finishing school, working, saving money, enjoying life, etc..etc...before even considering settling down. My back up plan was if he gave her a ring to verbally support a VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT!!! 19 and 20 is just too young don't you think??? I had just turned 20 when I married Mike and he had just turned 21...too young!!!

7 Quick Takes

I seem to have trouble blogging, I always feel like I have nothing to write that is worth reading {unless it pertains to the Preschool. I've seen this 7 Quick Takes and kinda liked it and thought I would give it a try.

*So, most of you know my hubby is a Police Officer who works on a Special Tac Unit. Well on Dec. 23rd he was involved in a shooting at work. It wasn't his first time pulling his gun, BUT it was his first time using it. I found out when the Chief called me to say that he wanted me to know that there had been a shooting, but that "Mike was fine".

*Mike finally got released to go back to work just this week. He is still on "Light Duty", but I just found out about 20 minutes ago that they are on "High Alert" and will "be late".

*Due to the hours he works I have to be a very "independent wife". I had no idea how much I would miss him once he did go back to work this week. He has been driving me to work everyday, bringing me lunch most days, and then returning to pick me up after work and then of course he was here keeping me company while I cooked dinner, etc... This week I've been lucky if I've seen him before 8/8:30.

*Last Thursday Mike took the Sgt. exam and he found out on Monday that he passed. There is only 2 spots open for a Sgt. and there is about 20 guys hoping for it. But, here's the thing if Mike gets picked he will go back to working midnights/6 wks. on weekends/6 wks. off/he loses his FBI issued phone and car {which means we go back to paying for a cell for him {no biggie}, but we have to buy a new car because we gave mine to Laura to have for college, I drive Mike's truck now but, he will need a car to drive to and from work, he will gain $50/week, but loses all overtime and will be limited to very little off duties {which we also depend on}. We stand to lose more than we will gain, but it is his career and not mine. So, I guess what I'm rambling about is this....I haven't said one negative thing to him about this choice, but is it wrong of me to hope he just stays where he is???

*I was asked by someone this week what I could possibly be doing in the afternoons at the Preschool that would keep me so busy. Do you think it was wrong that I was kinda ticked off?

*I was also recently asked "Is it really that important to have everything just so so at the Preschool and is it really that important to schedule so many activities? Do you think it was wrong that I was really ticked off by that comment?

*Sometimes I really wonder if I should just open my own school...after all I already have a name for it....Miss Ladybug's Cottage.

Parenting

I recently had a conversation with a parent regarding parents disciplining their child or more specifically NOT disciplining them. I have a fairly nice collection of Parenting Books that I suggest and loan to parents on a regular basis. I recently got a new one from Amazon titled... Making Children MIND Without Losing YOURS. I've only read a few pages of it, but here are a few things that have stood out to me that I wanted to share.

Raising a child these days can be very scary. Is it possible to bring up good children in such a crazy age?Sure, it's possible. But it's still scary.

Ever hear the term "it takes a village to raise a child"? We don't need the community to raise our children, we don't need the schools to do it, we don't need the government telling us how, we don't even need the church's to do our child rearing for us....we need parents to step up and do it. And we need everyone else - community, school, government, church - to support the parents in their efforts.

The time has come for an idea I call reality discipline. It's consistent, decisive, and respectful way for parents to love and discipline their children. {Notice I said "discipline" and not "punish". I said "love"and not "smother love".

Children, obey your parents, this is the right thing to do because God has placed them in authority over you. Honor your father and mother. This is the first of God's Ten Commandments that ends with a promise. And, this is the promise, that if you honor your father and mother, yours will be a long life, full of blessings. And now a word to you parents. Don't keep on scolding and nagging your children, making them angry and resentful. Rather, bring them up with the loving discipline the Lord himself approves, with suggestions and godly advice. The words I want to pay particular attention to are "obey", "authority", and "loving discipline".

Do I reccomend spanking? I believe spanking has a place, but in most cases it should not take first place. At the same time, I strongly believe that when we discipline children, their psyches are not in danger.

As parents we are all "Home-Schoolers". We should be teaching our kids every day that there are consequences for their actions, some positive and some negatives. That's one of the most important things they'll ever learn.

That's as far as I've gotten, but I have to say I will be reccomended this book!

It was like the first day of school all over for me today. I woke at 5:30 and couldn't go back to sleep, I was really looking forward to seeing my Baby Ducks {it had been nearly 2 1/2 weeks!}. I wanted to look extra sassy so, I got up to get my outfit all put together and to make sure my hair looked just perfect {LOL}. I got to work and opened the door about 8 minutes early to those parents who were waiting {eagerly panting!} to drop their little ones off. I got lots of hugs {no better way to start your day!} and heard many sweet voices say "Miss Shawnie I really missed you"! "Miss Shawnie I love you", "Miss Shawnie, you look so cute today"{told you I had an extra sassy outfit on!}, "Miss Shawnie did you miss me?" and "Ohhhh...Miss Shawnie I like your boots" LOL!!!! During Circle Time I explained that I was going to go around the circle and wanted to hear from each friend what "their favorite Christmas gift was". Some favorites were: scooters, babies, Leap Frogs, castles, bikes, Wii's, etc... I told the friends that it sounded as if they got some awesome toys, then I said well I didn't get a scooter or a new bike or any Little Pet Shops toys....BUT! "Look What Mr. Mike Gave Me"! BAM!!!! A BIG OLE RING!!!! They all thought that was so funny and one little one said "Miss Shawnie you really are a Queen"!!!!! LOL.. Then we moved to art, since we are coming back mid week we are doing a theme on "Snow" {how fitting, since it's freezing out}instead of introducing a new letter. So, today's Art Project was a "Snow Man". I started drawing a snow man to give as an example except, I said since I was a girl I was making a "snow girl" instead of a snow man. I added eyelashes, "sassy hair" and when I got to the scarf I said I was drawing a "boa" instead because everyone knows how much I love wearing feather boa's!! Then I asked for them to draw their own snow boy or snow girl. to add detail and to use their imagination. I saw alot of great snow girls and boys. There was one that I commented on because it looked "rather interesting" so, I asked the friend to tell me about it. It was a snow girl with eye lashes, a really cute bow in her hair and had "boobies". LOL!!!! I had a dad who was running just a few minutes late so, "I kept his daughter company" until he got there. I was coloring something {yes! I color!}for my bulletin board and my little friend was talking to me and helping me by handing me the color marker I needed next. After talking for a while she says to me "Miss Shawnie aren't you glad I was able to keep you company until my dad gets here"? {LOL} I said YES! I am so glad "you" were able to keep "me" company. Then this afternoon after my napping friends got up we were all talking and I looked at one of my little friends and said "Hey, I just realized what is so different about you" "You got bangs"! She said yes, my mom cut them, you know she's a Hair Stylist. I said Oh that's right maybe I'll get her to cut my hair because I want a saasy hair cut. She looked at me and said "But, Miss Shawnie you already have sassy hair" {LOL!!!} I said "Yea I know but, I want an extra sassy hair cut. She said ok, I'll tell my mom.

I LOVE my job!!

Snow Man Poop

Today was yet another great day at the Preschool! I'm here to have fun! I'm not a big disciplinarian, I don't always follow "my own rules", and 9 times out of 10 I'm the reason the Baby Ducks are being loud and out of control or the cause of big messes. Kinda like today with the shaving cream! We've been doing a really fun theme on snow and I've had shaving cream at the tables for the ducks to play in, smear on the tables and draw snowmen in. Today one of my little ones asked for my help in squirting out more shaving cream. As I started squirting it on the table I got tickled with what I was thinking and started giggling. The group of little ones wanted to know what I was laughing about and I said "Look {as I was squirting shaving cream} it's SNOWMAN POOP"!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha...next thing I know everyone was coming over to see the SNOWMAN POOP!!!!!! I turned around for just a second and one little one is covered in shaving cream!! Miss Mary asked him how on earth he got covered in shaving cream...he says "What Shaving Cream"?? LOL...then I say "Oh, that's not shaving cream.....that's SNOWMAN POOP!!!!!! YES!!! It is soooooo good to be me!!!!

I'm Back!!

I have neglected my cottage, but I'm determined to start spending more time here. I can't believe how busy my life is. I thought with 2 children grown and living their own lives and with the 2 littles being 19 & 15 things would start to slow down for me a bit. But, I guess I forgot to factor in the 38 Baby Ducks I see to on a daily basis, a hubby who works erratic hours and that 15 & 19 year old that seem to need me just as much as they did when they were 3 & 4. I'm not sure where I got the idea things would slow down??!!

Gone are the days where we took field trips at the Preschool. I miss my trips to Uncle Donald's Farm so, I now have a week devoted to "The Farm" so, yesterday we had fun..."Down on Old St. Edward's Farm". Here are a few pictures of our day....and I just gotta say..."It's so good to be Miss Shawnie".

Preschool Funnies

So today my little baby ducks were celebrating my birthday a few days early. To reward them I read them one of my favorite little books Gossie. It's about a little girl goosling who loves to wear her red boots. "It's a Miss Shawnie book". I usually read it once and then read it the second time the "Miss Shawnie" way, which is very dramatic, {especially since I can be such a drama queen...LOL}. Anyhoo...after getting to the part where poor Gossie can't find her red boots and me wailing and wailing over it and the children laughing and laughing over it...I came up with the idea of wailing over turning 49.

I kept wailing I don't want to be 49..I don't wannnnnnaaaaaaa be 49!!!!!!! They got the biggest kick out that, asking me over and over to do it again. The this little girl came up to me and said Miss Shawnie why are you so upset...at least you aren't dead! Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

One Of My Favorite Things...Early Childhood Conferences...the weekend is still spinning in my head!

A Few Plans For The Week...fun at the Preschool, and then off for a long weekend at the beach!!

Early Childhood Conference

So, this weekend was the annual Early Childhood Conference in Orlando. I usually receive the flyer for the conference late July to early August and always immed. book myself as attending and book my hotel room right after. The conference is usually Fri and Sat so, I'm lucky enough to have it in the schools budget for me to stay overnight {just a small perk for being the Director AND Lead Teacher}. This year the conference was Thurs - Sun. and next year you can bet I will be there Fri - Sun!!Have I mentioned that I get really excited about going to the conference??? And, the vendors really do it for me...LOL!!! I get so excited over seeing new products, finding all kinds of cool things for my baby ducks, and buying new cd's from some of the sessions I attend that promote the use of music in the classroom. And, sessions that teach about Literacy, books, or Brain Research well WOO HOO!!! Now, that REALLY does it for me!! This year in particular I was hoping for 2 well 3 things...1. A really great session on Brain Research disussing the topic of Literacy & Handwriting...2. A possible new technique on teaching handwriting or a tip or two on teaching children who are struggling with their pencil grip...and 3. really cool stuff from vendors {especially since I had $300 left from a grant I was blessed with over the summer}.So, by now you have an idea that I really LOVE and look forward to the conference each year.

So, now let me tell you what really TICKS me off. 1. Speakers who are paid to lead a session and come very unprepared, are boring, and basically waste my time. and 2. Teachers who either talk, sleep, text, and this year had the gall to talk on their cell phone during a session {those that did any of this around me knew within minutes that I DID NOT approve!} and 3. worst of all...those that sit during a session and do nothing but, complain about being there, complain about their Directors making them be there, wasting their time and always telling them to do this or that in their class, and even bad mouth the children they are teaching. I'm really not a confrontational person but, I will get my panties in a wad over these things and have no problem suggesting a job at Wal Mart would be the better option for them, the benefits and pay are ten times better than what you get in Early Childhood!!!!!If you aren't interested in fulfilling your annual 10 hrs of inservice training each year than get a job some place else and don't waste your Director/Owners money by coming to the conference {did I mention it's not cheap!} and 2 get off your Directors back, our job isn't an easy one, and one that doesn't end when we clock out at the end of the day, and maybe your attitude and lack of commitment is why your Director has a problem with you to begin with. AND!!!!! if you are doing nothing but complain about the children in your class THEN YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN THIS FIELD SO GET OUT NOW BEFORE YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO A CHILD'S SELF ESTEEM!!

All the sessions I attended were awesome, informative, fun, and gave me great ideas....except one! The first session I picked dealt with my favorite subject Brain Research. This one in particular was dealing with Literacy and Handwriting...I was over the top excited...to bad the Professor with the MASTER Degree that she kept telling us about didn't have her act togther. She started out by telling us that it had been a bad idea on her part by leaving Tallahassee at 4 am that morning to come speak...gee ya think?? Then she apologized by saying she didn't have enough time to put together any hand outs...didn't have time??? The conference flyers went out in July and you can bet she was booked prior to that and she didn't have enough time??? I learned nothing, in fact she said nothing even worth writing down, she didn't even speak on subject...I could have stood up and taught more than she did without having a Master's Degree. Luckily all the other sessions I attending were fantastic and gave me great ideas!! The last one I attended this afternoon dealt with handwriting and was full of ideas, information and tips.The vendor booths were disappointing this year, I came back with a few things but, not as much as I normally do. I was speaking to someone and they said at last years conference a lot of the vendors took a hit due to the economy so, not many returned this year...sad...because I always have money to spend...the schools, mine, and mine I shouldn't spend...LOL!!!

All in all it was a great time, fun, relaxing, and informative. It was at the Rosen Centre, I had a great room, kinda felt like a princess while I was there and I already excited about next years conference because I'm planning on attending the full weekend!!!!!And, I left with this one thought...as much as I love this field, love children,and love seeing that every child's day is full of fun, love, learning and being creative...I wonder what it would be like to travel to different Preschools to help/teach other Directors/Teachers in implementing change...change for the better of children...just a thought.....

Boogers

So, I have this little cutie patootie at the Preschool. He came in one morning and said to me "My mom is just too cute". I laughed and said "Why, yes she is". He said "Yeah, she's a sweetie". Then one day this week he came up to me and said "Miss Shawnie when I go home my mommy is going to get all my boogers out of my nose". I had to send his mom a note about something else but, added this last line...I hear you're going to be getting all the boogers out of his nose when you get home....So, enjoy!

Makes me think of all the funny things I've heard over the years. Here are a few of my favorites:

The same little boy I was talking about above says he has to go "TT", instead of saying "pee" or "potty". It's not really funny, it just that my beloved Grandmom always said it and it's not a term you hear a lot.

Someones mommy always has a baby in their tummy...and they are always surprised to find out about it when I congratulate them.

I once had this little boy tell me that his mom and dad got into a really big fight, not wanting to go there with him on it, I said "well sometimes mommy and daddies get mad at each other just like you get mad at your friends". He said "oh no! they were really mad, yelling and everything!!" Really wanting to change the subject I said "well sometimes mommies and daddies argue, it's just part of being grown ups". He then said "well my dad was so mad he left the house, slammed the door and started walking down the street, and when my mom went to go get him in the van she told him he better get his @*%# in the car right now"!!!

Once a little girl was telling me she spent the whole weekend with her grandparents and I said "What on earth did your parents ever do without you all weekend??" She said "oh, my dad probably just walked around in his underwear all weekend"!

During our annual Ice Cream Party I was asking the friends if they were enjoying their ice cream, and if their favorite was chocolate or vanilla. A little girl raised her hand and said "my dad really likes ice cream, but when he eats it he gets really bad gas!"

This little girl came in one day and said "my dad taught me to spell". I said "he did, what did he teach you?" She said he taught me to spell F*A*R*T

Once during our Native American Theme I was sharing different pictures of Native Americans with them, and got to one of a Chief smoking a peace pipe, I mentioned that smoking is bad for you and that they should never, ever smoke. A little girl raised her hand and said "My dad smokes" and then I said "Well your dad is an adult and can do what he wants, but you never should because it really is bad for you". She then said "well my mom always gets mad at my dad because she says all he does is drink and smoke, drink and smoke"!

During Circle Time I talk about different things with the friends and they will raise their hand to comment back on it, or add to the discussion, most of the time it's to tell me something totally off the subject I'm on...like this one time when a little girl raised her hand to tell me that her mommy was going to the Dr. this week to get bigger boobies.

And, then there are the penis funnies....once this little boy was telling me that his baby brother had a penis just like him but, that his brothers was really little, and that his dad had one too, but his was REALLY BIG!

And, once during Circle Time this little boy kept pulling on his "penis" which is usually the universal sign for needing to go pee pee. So I asked "do you need to go potty"? Outside My Window...the sun is slowly going down

I am Thinking...that Mike is going to freak when he finds out that Sarah and I came home with not 1, but 2 kittens today. He knew we were exchanging a cat {that was a biter} for another cat, but has no idea about this. Ehh...what can I say Sarah and I couldn't decide and the lady said BOGO...LOL

From The Kitchen...meatloaf, homemade scalloped potatoes, steamed green beans, and fresh rolls.....I figure this will get me back on Mike's good side.

From The Learning Rooms...the letter Cc...Friday will be Cowboy/Cowgirl day...Yipee!!

Ants and Boobs

Since we are talking about BOOBS....Leisa! On the Preschool's playground we have these insane ants that seem to be everywhere and I swear even fall out of the trees. They don't seem to bother anyone, but ME!

Every afternoon during the 12:30 pick up I'm constantly swatting them off of me, but there is always this one ninja ant that makes it way down by top and goes right for my BOOBS! I swear I have bites all over the sides of my boobs!!! They must be male ants!

Today a crazy ninja ant made it as far as my belly button, because I have 3 huge welts around it that have itched me terribly all afternoon. I've got news for the ants...MY PANTIES ARE OFF LIMITS!!!!

Snake On The Play Ground

So, one day last week a snake decided to visit us on the playground. Little did he know that I consider all snakes dangerous and poisonous, and I was not at all happy with his appearance. If you are a snake lover you better stop reading here because it gets ugly from this point on.

So, I'm inside the Preschool cleaning up after Tea Party and 2 of the little friends come running in yelling "Miss Shawnie!!, Miss Shawnie!!" Miss Mary said to to come and get you because there is a snake on the play ground {come and get me???!!, she knows I'm terrified of snakes so, what the heck does she think I'm going to do???}. So, I go outside to see what is going on...Miss Carmen has all the friends safely standing along the ramp in case they need to run inside. Miss Mary tells me she has yelled for Mr. Robert to bring a shovel and is watching to be sure the snake doesn't slither off. I walk over and sure enough there is a snake all curled up by one of our climbing structures.

About that time Mr. Robert walks up with a shovel and asks "What do you want me to do with it"? Uhhhh....gee...hmmm...let me think for a minute...."KILL IT"!!!! Luckily, the friends were standing in an area where they couldn't see Mr. Robert whack the heck out of it {I wouldn't want to be the cause of nightmares, that usually comes later in the year when I talk about the little leprechaun who likes to play tricks on us for St. Patrick's Day, which is another story for another time}. So, as I'm watching Mr. Robert "off" the snake Miss Mary thinks it would be funny to sneak up behind me and tap my leg with a small stick making me think another snake was on my leg. After I scream and nearly pee my pants I realize it was nothing. Of course all the friends are howling with laughter.

So, by now the snake is "no longer with us" and I say to Mary..."You dare me to pick it up"? She says "I dare you"...that's all it took...I picked it up, told her to take my picture { I had ran inside for my camera} after which I chased her around the play ground with the snake...muh.....hhahahahaha!!!

I thought it was hilarious....until I realized a few friends were upset. Yep...ended up having to send out a mass e mail to the parents telling them about the snake and my poor judgement to chase Miss Mary around the play ground. Luckily most thought it was funny...just another day at Preschool.

Outside My Window...at 6:30 pm it is still sunny and very hot, but it has been a beautiful and relaxing day.

I am Thinking....about if I could possibly pull off working half days or at least working half days 2 days a week....I miss being home.

I am Thankful...my personal saviour Jesus Christ...with whom all things are possible and without him I am nothing.

From The Kitchen...chicken breasts saute with olive oil, white wine, onion, garlic, rosemary and oregano...new red potatoes & sweet potatoes saute in olive oil & butter with garlic, onion, rosemary and oregano...steamed fresh green beans. For the rest of the week...chicken...it was on sale

From The Learning Rooms...at the Preschool i am testing this week so, we will do a theme on Mother Goose

I am Wearing...shorts and a top

I am Reading...I need to either buy or borrow Eclipse...I read New Moon in record time....loved it and can't wait for the movie

I am Hoping...to figure out a way to get a least 2 afternoons a week off

I am Hearing...the evening news, dinner cooking, and can hear Laura turning pages in her workbook.....she is doing good in her classes, but gets easily frustrated and defeated with school...please pray for her.

I am Praying For...guidance, restoration, many people, but especially hard for the Raley family

From The Kitchen...Grilled Steaks again with steamed asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Steaks were on sale again so, I could resist. Chicken later in the week and we'll see what else.

I am Praying For...my friend Myrtis who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Roy Raley, for myself, and special prayers for my daughters Laura and Sarah. Laura is struggling with school and Sarah has become very rebellious lately.
